The Blueprint for Drug/Diagnostic Development: Facilitating Development and Use of Curated Genetic Databases forum was held this morning at The Mayflower in Washington D.C. Roman Yelensky, Ph.D., vice president, biomarker and companion diagnostic development at Foundation Medicine represented the company in the first of the two panels, which focused on the development and standardization of curated databases.

The annual forum, sponsored by Friends of Cancer Research and Alexandria Summit/Alexandria Venture Investments, convened researchers, sponsors, advocates and regulators to address challenges in the co-development of drugs and companion diagnostics. Two expert panels explored strategies about how genomics knowledgebases are altering research and treatment paradigms, the challenges and opportunities to standardizing practices, and how best to use this information in patient care.
