Sanket Agrawal joined Foundation Medicine in July of 2021 as Chief Biopharma Business Officer. Mr. Agrawal brings 20 years of diverse leadership experience across life sciences and biopharma including commercial oncology, drug development and commercialization, portfolio and product strategy, partnering and business development, and organizational transformation. Earlier in his career, he specialized in strategy and operations at leading consulting firms.
In this role, Mr. Agrawal is responsible for advancing Foundation Medicine’s mission by enabling its partners to rapidly bring novel, practice-changing therapies to patients. He leads the biopharma business unit in its commitment to transforming cancer care by delivering innovative solutions that leverage Foundation Medicine’s science, leading products and talent.
Prior to joining Foundation Medicine, Mr. Agrawal served in several executive roles at Amgen for over a decade, most recently as Global Product General Manager, Oncology, KRAS Franchise. In that role, he led the rapid development, approval and launch of the first ever targeted therapy for patients with KRAS-mutant non-small cell lung cancer and oversaw a large global team spanning the entire drug lifecycle. His prior roles included leading the Global Commercial Oncology Pipeline unit at Amgen, where he was responsible for portfolio and disease-area strategy and advancing the company’s novel oncology/hematology pipeline in partnership with the research and development (R&D) team. Mr. Agrawal spent many years in Amgen R&D, leading teams charged with strategic initiatives, business performance, operational excellence, merger and acquisition integration, and global functional outsourcing.
Prior to Amgen, Mr. Agrawal was Chief Strategy/Business Officer at Relsys Intl., now Oracle Health Sciences. He led the company’s growth to 80+ biopharma customers and market leadership, with responsibility for client relations, revenue, solutions and services, and industry alliances.
Mr. Agrawal graduated from Delhi University, and went on to earn a Master’s in Engineering, Information Systems from the University of Toronto, a Master’s in Business Administration from UCLA, and a Master’s of Public Health from the University of Liverpool.
